It’s easy to find all the facts about Ladakh online, which is why I’d like to share a narrative of my and my travelers’ experience with the place through this platform. Since Ladakh has no direct connectivity through air, we get down at Leh. This is where we welcome all our travelers and take them to their boutique stays. While many people undertake a rush-rush journey to the entire region, we do not support that. I believe that it is essential to acclimatize oneself to the high altitude, weather, and let the Ladakhi air fill your lungs with its spirit.
Once this happens, travelers are ready for Ladakh. The road trip from Leh to Ladakh takes you on a never seen before the journey of your life. While you might have to travel the entire Indian subcontinent to witness deserts, plains, lakes, mountains, and snow, you can do it all on your journey to Ladakh. The place is full of surprises, and even though I’ve been there more than a few times, it doesn’t fail to astonish me. It’s like there’s always something beautiful that you end up discovering.
Ladakh is in the rain shadow of the monsoon season, which is why the days are sunny and bright making the summer the perfect time to visit. It usually takes five days of acclimatizing, road trips, and visiting places like Hall of Fame, Magnetic Hills, Confluence of 2 Rivers, Alchi Village- Cook with the Famous Chef of Ladakh, Da -Hanu -The Aryan Village, Ladakhi Lunch at Stok Village, Thiksey & Stok Monastery, Leh Palace & Shanti Stupa. The confluence of the Indus and the Zanskar rivers is a rare sight. One can clearly differentiate between the two waters from a distance. Similarly, the rare phenomenon of Magnetic Hill leaves everyone astonished. By this time, travelers start craving more of the place.

One of the most talked-about attractions of Ladakh is the Pangong Lake. You might not have gone without hearing about it. Undoubtedly, the turquoise-colored lake is one of the most peaceful and scintillating places on this planet. At Pangong lake, you not only get to hear the sound of water but also it’s large than life experience. Extending from here are the gorgeous lands of Tibet.
One of the most important parts of visiting Ladakh is meeting the indigenous people of the region. It is through their eyes that you hear the long lost fables of the angelic lands and come close to understanding the rich heritage of Ladakh. During the 6th and 7th day, travelers head towards the Nubra valley by crossing Khardung La, the highest motor-able road in the world. One of the delights of Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage is the village Turtuk. Turtuk-one of the last villages on the Indo-Pakistan border that was once part of the Silk Route. Consider your journey to Ladakh incomplete, if you don’t visit this place. Now, these are the little details that many commercial travelers fail to tell you when they talk about Ladakh. Yet, it deprives people of its immense beauty and inner charm.
To witness the real Ladakh, you will have to spend a night in the open air, surrounded by stars, the archipelago of constellations, and other lesser-known asterisms. I facilitate a special camp night and a bonfire to make these moments imprint for a lifetime in the traveler’s mind. And as the traveler dwells into the land of the lamas, so does the setting night into the rising dusk. No matter which language you look into, it is difficult to find words that describe the sunrise of the infinite sky. Not only does it reflect upon the entire valley, but it also enlightens the parts of our existence that were hidden to us. It is at this moment, that Ladakh imprints onto your soul.
