Maggi & Chai on top the highest road!
Khardungla Pass
17,582 ft. high, low on oxygen but high on spirits, standing at Khardung La – supposedly the world’s highest motorable road – the feeling is just unexplainable!
Experience this 39.7 km journey from Leh through the winding roads of the brown-barren mountains, under the blue sky, and witness how suddenly the whole scene changes to sheets of snow-covered mountains, cold air, mist…
It just feels as if it’s the doorway to heaven and as this thought runs across your mind, the doors open and god showers its blessings with a bountiful of soft, white flakes of snow. The fall so gentle and galore you would just drown in this pristine beauty of nature.
You surely won’t miss the colourful Tibetan prayer flags fluttering around. They are a great reminder to us – to spread love and compassion into space – belief is that the prayers and positive vibrations are spread by the wind like silent prayers, silently echoing around.
At the side of the road, you’ll find a small tin teashop run by some lovely villagers. They make sure that your spirits do not dampen because of the cold and keep you warm by serving hot masala chai and yummy Maggi! It’s a different feeling altogether – snow fall, sitting in nature’s lap sipping chai and gorging on Maggi.
You got to try this; bet chai and Maggi here is the best you’ll ever taste!
When to Visit:

A word of caution:
Do not hurriedly (in excitement) get out of the car hurriedly, this area is low in oxygen so give yourself some time to acclimatize.
If feeling dizzy, contact the army shelter situated right there, they have oxygen cylinders and first aid kits.
