The Rumbak Trek is a popular hiking trail located in the Ladakh region of India, which is renowned for its stunning landscapes, high-altitude passes, and cultural diversity. The trek is named after the small village of Rumbak, which serves as the starting point for the hike.
The Rumbak Trek is a moderate-to-challenging trek that takes approximately five to six days to complete. The trail covers a distance of around 50 km and reaches an elevation of 4,900 meters. The trek is known for its spectacular views of the snow-capped Himalayan ranges, rugged terrain, and diverse wildlife, including the elusive Snow Leopard.
The trek starts from the village of Rumbak and passes through several remote villages, including Yurutse, Skiu, and Markha. Along the way, trekkers are treated to breathtaking views of the Zanskar Range and the Stok Kangri mountain. The trail also passes through lush green valleys, rugged canyons, and high-altitude passes.
One of the highlights of the Rumbak Trek is the opportunity to spot the Snow Leopard, which is one of the rarest and most elusive big cats in the world. The Hemis National Park, which is located along the trek, is home to around 200 Snow Leopards. Trekkers may also encounter other wildlife, including Himalayan ibex, blue sheep, and golden eagles.
The Rumbak Trek is a culturally rich experience as well. Trekkers will have the opportunity to interact with the friendly and hospitable Ladakhi people and learn about their unique culture and way of life. The trail passes through several remote villages where trekkers can experience traditional Ladakhi cuisine and witness traditional dances and music performances.
Early morning board flight to Leh. Upon arrival at the Leh Airport, you will be received by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Take lunch at own and relax. Since you are arriving at 11000 ft, we strongly recommend taking complete rest on the first day where you should not indulge yourself in any strenuous activity. The rest of the day is free to acclimatize to the high altitude of Leh. Dinner & Overnight stay at hotel.

Start the day with a visit to the Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a beautiful temple located in the mountains. Nestled deep in the Himalayas, it was constructed by the Lamas of Leh in 1517 to honor the visit of Guru Nanak Dev – the founder of the Sikh faith. Drive another few km to witness the magic of Magnetic Hill that defies the law of gravity. It has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on neutral gear on this metallic road, it seems to slide up and further. Driving through a picturesque landscape, we reach the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar River (Sangam).
Continue to the Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the Indian Army and its heroic acts. Take a leisurely walk to Alchi village and explore the oldest shopping complex in Ladakh, where you can find unique handicrafts and souvenirs. Visit the Alchi Monastery, a beautiful and historic Buddhist monastery. Later drive to visit the 1000-year-old Alchi monastery, the only Gompa in Ladakh region on flat ground. Afternoon drive back to Leh by visiting the Hall of Fame (A Museum developed by the Indian Army) to commemorate the Indian Soldiers in Kargil War. Later check in at Hotel. Dinner & overnight at Leh Hotel.

Start your drive to Zinchen, the starting point of the Rumbak Trek. From there, you will begin the trek to Rumbak village (4,000 meters), passing through scenic landscapes and remote villages. The trail offers stunning views of the Stok Kangri range and the Zanskar range, and you may also have the opportunity to spot some wildlife, such as the Himalayan ibex or blue sheep. You will spend the night in a homestay or tented camp in Rumbak.

After breakfast, you will begin the trek to Yurutse (4,200 meters), passing through beautiful valleys and rugged terrain. You will cross several small streams and enjoy panoramic views of the Stok Kangri range and the Zanskar ranges. Yurutse is a small village that offers stunning views of the Stok Kangri range. You will spend the night in a homestay or tented camp in Yurutse.

You will hike to the Shingo-La Pass (5,100 meters), the highest point of the trek. The trail to the pass is challenging but offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. At the pass, you will have a chance to take some photos and enjoy the views before descending to Shingo Crossing (4,800 meters). Shingo Crossing is a small village that is located at the confluence of two rivers and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. You will spend the night in a homestay or tented camp in Shingo Crossing.

Start the day with your hike to Skui village (3,700 meters), passing through beautiful landscapes and traditional Ladakhi villages. From Skui, you will trek to the Chilling Bridge (3,350 meters), where you will cross the Zanskar River via a suspension bridge. The bridge is a popular spot for photos and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and river. You will spend the night in a homestay or tented camp near the Chilling Bridge.

After breakfast, you will drive back to Leh. Spend the day exploring the city and shopping for souvenirs. In the evening, transfer to the airport for your flight out of Leh.
