Here is the detailed itinerary along with inclusions and exclusions for 8 nights, the dates of which are completely customizable as per your availability
Early morning board flight to Leh. Upon arrival at the Leh Airport, you will be received by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Take lunch at own and relax. Since you are arriving at 11000 ft, we strongly recommend taking complete rest on the first day where you should not indulge yourself in any strenuous activity. Rest of the day is free to acclimatize to the high altitude of Leh. Dinner & Overnight stay at hotel.
Start the day with a visit to the Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a beautiful temple located in the mountains. Nestled deep in the Himalayas, it was constructed by the Lamas of Leh in 1517 to honor the visit of Guru Nanak Dev – the founder of the Sikh faith. Drive another few km to witness the magic of Magnetic Hill that defies the law of gravity. It has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on neutral gear on this metallic road, it seems to slide up and further. Driving through a picturesque landscape, we reach the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar River (Sangam).
Continue to the Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the Indian Army and its heroic acts. Take a leisurely walk to Alchi village and explore the oldest shopping complex in Ladakh, where you can find unique handicrafts and souvenirs. Visit the Alchi Monastery, a beautiful and historic Buddhist monastery. Later drive to visit the 1000-year-old Alchi monastery, the only Gompa in Ladakh region on flat ground. Afternoon drive back to Leh by visiting the Hall of Fame (A Museum developed by the Indian Army) to commemorate the Indian Soldiers in Kargil War. Later check in at Hotel. Dinner & overnight at Leh Hotel.
After a leisurely breakfast, we drive to visit Hemis Monastery situated 45km west of Leh, Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back, taking the same route to visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hill-lock with formidable views of the Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya Buddha and is also known for its (Dukhang) assembly hall, which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. While we start the day with a chanting session with the monks, allowing for a cathartic experience, we then have a spiritual awakening session with a Buddhist scholar to gain a deeper understanding of Buddhism and its principles.
Afterward, return to the Hall of Fame for its cherished night show and explore more exhibits and learn about the Indian Army’s history and contributions. Enjoy a traditional local lunch at a homestay, where you can experience authentic Ladakhi hospitality.
After that we continue to drive through series of chortens to visit Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. Later back to Hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Drive to Nubra Valley, a breathtaking valley located at an altitude of 10,000 feet. Visit the Diskit Monastery, a beautiful Buddhist monastery that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Enjoy a thrilling ATV ride through the sand dunes, followed by a camel ride through the valley. Spend the evening at leisure, taking in the beautiful scenery and enjoying a peaceful night in Nubra Valley. The Nubra Valley is a beautiful and breathtaking valley located in the northernmost region of India in Ladakh. The valley is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, sand dunes, and lush green fields, making it a unique and diverse destination. Visitors to the Nubra Valley can explore the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and largest monastery in Nubra, as well as the Hunder Sand Dunes, where they can enjoy a thrilling camel ride. The valley is also home to several hot springs, offering visitors a chance to relax and rejuvenate in the natural mineral waters. Overall, the Nubra Valley is a must-visit destination for its stunning natural beauty, unique cultural heritage, and exciting outdoor activities.
After breakfast at camp/hotel we drive to next destination Pangong Lake (situated at 14, 500 ft above sea level) via Shayok and onto Tang Tse and Spangmik (Pangong). It’s a short cut and it’s a beautiful route. The road follows the Shayok river, and climbs up a mountain before finally descending into Shayok village. It takes less than an hour to reach Shayok, and you will be delighted at the sight of the rather big village surrounded by barren mountains, the entire setting being very picturesque. Afternoon we reach at Pangong Lake and enjoy your day at Pangong Lake.
En route, visit the Thiksey Monastery, a beautiful monastery known for its impressive architecture. Spend the night camping at Pangong Lake, surrounded by the serene beauty of the lake and its surroundings.
Get up early morning to witness the sunrise view at the lake. Enjoy your breakfast and drive back to Leh via Changla Pass 5486 Mtrs. Arrive Leh and check in at the hotel. Evening free for shopping or leisure. Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel.
Visit the Leh Market, a vibrant and bustling market where you can find a wide variety of goods and souvenirs. Head to the Shanti Stupa, a beautiful white-domed Buddhist stupa located on a hilltop overlooking Leh. Enjoy the stunning views of Leh and the surrounding mountains from the top of the stupa.
Depart from Leh and head back home, bringing with you memories of an unforgettable trip to Ladakh.
